Such special terms may be supplementary to these Terms of Use or, where and only when the content or purpose of the special terms does not coincide with the terms contained in these Terms of Use, the special terms will supersede these Terms of Use. The Organising Committee reserves the right to make changes or revisions in relation to the Content of the website or its format at any time without notice.

The Organising Committee reserves the right to suspend or restrict access to the website for any reason at its sole discretion. Despite the care taken to ensure the accuracy of the information on this website, the Organising Committee assumes no responsibility over this.

All content is provided “as is” and “as available” on this website. The Organising Committee expressly disclaims any statement or warranty, expressed or implied, including without limitation warranties of suitability for any purpose, whether related to operation, content or dealings.

The Organising Committee does not guarantee or make any statements about the security of this website. It is acknowledged that information may be withheld. Under no circumstances shall the Event Organizing Committee be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, moral, reasonable compensation or lost profits (including without limitation compensation for loss of business, whether contractual or not, loss of revenue, other data & information or even for business interruption) caused by, resulting from, or related to the use or inability to use the website or its content even if the Organising Committee has been notified of the possibility of damage.

This website provides links, but is also linked to other websites that are not subject to the control of the Organising Committee. The Organising Committee is not responsible in any way for the content of other websites.

The Organising Committee provides these links only for the convenience of the user of this website and the existence of any link to websites does not imply the support of the Organising Committee for the content of these websites.

The copyright and all other intellectual property rights to the Content (including: software, sound, image, text and photos) belong exclusively to the Athanasios Ktorides Foundation (Register No. 273). These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Cypriot law and the Cypriot Courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim or cause of action arising from or relating to these Terms of Use or this website, provided that such exclusivity applies to legal proceedings initiated or raised by the Athanasios Ktorides Foundation.

Personal information provided or collected through or in connection with this website will be used exclusively in accordance with the relevant legislation regarding the protection of personal data.

Those who have access to this website and all users who use the content of this website to register an online application for participation for themselves personally or for third parties, both themselves and the third parties (of which expressed authorization has been given to the person carrying out their participation registration), explicitly and unconditionally accept all the terms and conditions governing the online registration for participation.

Those who have access to this website and all users who use the content of this website  to submit an online application also accept conditions governing the payment of the subscription fees which will go to charity, the participation in a road race, whatever way they choose to complete their registration, in accordance with the terms defined and referred to in the content of this website.

Users who have submitted an application for themselves or on behalf of third parties, fully accept that they “Participate in the race under their own personal responsibility, having undergone all the necessary medical examinations. They waive any claim against the organization for any bodily injury, from any cause during the race or immediately after. They also accept and consent to the free use of their name and image by the media and organisers for promotional purposes.”

In case of registration of a minor in the Quantum sMile Run 1.6 km, the registration will only be accepted if it is carried out by the parent or guardian of the minor, and must submit the following Statement:

“I hereby declare that I allow and consent to the participation of my child.

I also declare that my child is able to participate in the above competition and that he/she has undergone the necessary medical examinations. In the event that medical treatment is required during my child’s participation in the race, I authorise the Organising Committee and/or Responsible Stewards to provide any emergency medical care, including hospitalisation, where necessary to protect the health and “well-being” of the child.

By allowing my child to participate, I give my permission to the Organising Committee and the sponsor of the race to use the athlete’s photo (image), name, audio and visual recordings of his/her image and words recorded by television or radio stations, newspapers, magazines and other mass media of any kind, with the aim of promoting the goals and events of the Nicosia Marathon.

Finally, I waive any claim against the organisers for any damage or loss that may arise for any reason and declare that I have read the terms and conditions of participation and related information and fully accept them.”

1. It is expressly stated that no transfers of registrations will be made for any reason.
2. If a runner uses someone else’s number, they will be canceled and will not be included in the results.
3. There will be no refund in the case someone does not take part in the race.
4. In case the event is postponed, registrations will be valid for the new date set by the Athanasios Ktorides Foundation.
5. In the case the event is cancelled by decision of the State due to possible health protection measures or due to other reasons of force majeure, the registration of each runner will be transferred to the next event.

All users who have access to and use the website of the Organisation of the Event both on their own behalf and on behalf of third parties, for registering an application – declaration of participation in a race with a specific cost of a charitable donation, expressly and unconditionally accept all conditions of the charitable nature that govern the use of the bank accounts of the Institutions supported by the organisation as mentioned in the content of this website, for the payment of the amount of the fee corresponding to the competition that the user has chosen to participate for himself or on behalf of third parties.

All users may submit a request to participate in a voluntary offer to the Organization both for themselves and on behalf of third parties as long as they are expressly authorised by them.

The submission of an online application to participate as a volunteer in the Organisation declares that you expressly, completely and unconditionally accept the terms and conditions governing the application for voluntary participation as expressly stated in the application and also referred to in the present terms and conditions.

You hereby declare that you agree to the processing of your personal data, and you consent to the use of your image for the purposes of the volunteering program of the Event, in accordance with Cypriot legislation, not only by the Organising Committee but also by the Public Authorities that contribute to the Event.

Each application submitted for voluntary assistance refers exclusively to the offer of your volunteer services and does not refer in any case to a paid employment relationship.

We do not wish to receive any confidential, secret or proprietary information or other material from you either through the Website and the services offered through it or by email or otherwise. Any comments, updates, information or other information you submit or send us will be considered as non-confidential unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to you sending us such information.

By submitting or sending comments, updates, information or other material to us, you state and guarantee that they are original and that no third party has any rights to them. All comments, updates, information or other material you submit are and will remain the property of the Athanasios Ktorides Foundation, and will be used exclusively for the activities of the Organisation.

You also warrant that you waive any “moral claims” to posted information and data.

We may withdraw any right granted under the Terms and Conditions without prior notice.

All users are obligated to promptly comply with any termination or other notice, including, as applicable, ceasing all use of the Site.

Categories of Personal Data

The Organising Committee requests and processes the following categories of personal data, depending on the status of each natural person:

  1. a) Basic personal information – data (e.g. name, gender, age),
  2. b) Sports club name,
  3. c) Sports performance data,
  4. d) Contact data (e.g. Email, phone number),
  5. f) Financial data through a billing service provider (it is noted that for the cases of paying the charity fee for participating in a race, through a credit or debit card or another financial transaction method, the Organising Committee does not process any information related to the above financial data).
  6. g) Image data (eg photo, video),

h) Special category data (e.g. health data).

According to the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights in relation to the protection of your personal data:

  • to access your data,
  • to correct your information, in cases where the information kept by the Organising Committee is incorrect or incomplete,
  • request the deletion of your data (‘right to be forgotten’), as long as there is no related legal obligation or claim on the part of the Organising Committee, and this data is not related to official competition results,
  • to withdraw your consent, in cases where consent is the legal basis for the processing of your data.

It is noted that in the event that you participate in a race of the said Event, your request must be submitted in writing within 15 days from the day of submitting the registration application, expressly stating one of the following reasons:

  • object to processing for a specific reason,
  • restriction of processing,
  • request to transfer your data to another Data Controller.

In order to exercise any of your rights, please address the relevant written request to the Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the Organising Committee, at the email address you will find at the end of this text (Contact Us). Our response will be provided within one (1) month of receiving the request, with the exception of cases where an extension of up to two (2) additional months may be required due to the complexity and number of similar requests, in which case you will be informed in a timely manner.

If you do not receive a response to any of your requests, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (Independent Supervisory Authority for the protection of the individual). https://www.dataprotection.gov.cy

Η Οργανωτική Επιτροπή του Quantum Nicosia marathon, αναγνωρίζει ότι, η προστασία των φυσικών προσώπων έναντι της επεξεργασίας των δεδομένων προσωπικού χαρακτήρα είναι δικαίωμα υψίστης αξίας και υιοθετεί απόλυτα την Πολιτική Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα του Γραφείου της Επίτροπου Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα της Κύπρου, όπως αναφέρεται αναρτημένη στην ιστοσελίδα https://www.dataprotection.gov.cy.

Το άρθρο 8 παράγραφος 1 του Χάρτη των Θεμελιωδών Δικαιωμάτων της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης («Χάρτης») και το άρθρο 16 παράγραφος 1 της Συνθήκης για τη λειτουργία της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης (ΣΛΕΕ) διασφαλίζουν ότι κάθε πρόσωπο έχει δικαίωμα στην προστασία των δεδομένων προσωπικού χαρακτήρα που το αφορούν.

Στις 25.05.2018 τέθηκε σε ισχύ ο Γενικός Κανονισμός Προστασίας Δεδομένων 2016/679, ο οποίος αυστηροποίησε το πλαίσιο προστασίας των φυσικών προσώπων έναντι της επεξεργασίας των δεδομένων προσωπικού χαρακτήρα και για την ελεύθερη κυκλοφορία των δεδομένων αυτών (εφεξής ο «Κανονισμός» κι ευρέως γνωστός ως General Data Protection Regulation – «GDPR»).

Η παρούσα Πολιτική του Ιδρύματος….., αναφέρεται για την εκπλήρωση της υποχρέωσης της Διοργάνωσης που απορρέει από το Άρθρο 13 του Κανονισμού, να παρέχει στους πολίτες πληροφόρηση, πώς χρησιμοποιεί τα δεδομένα που συλλέγει / διατηρεί, υπό την ιδιότητα και το ρόλο του ως υπεύθυνος επεξεργασίας, σεβόμενος τα δικαιώματα και τις ελευθερίες των υποκειμένων των δεδομένων και διασφαλίζοντας ότι τα προσωπικά τους δεδομένα:

  • συλλέγονται για συγκεκριμένους, σαφείς και νόμιμους σκοπούς, όπως αυτοί καταγράφονται στο αρχείο δραστηριοτήτων επεξεργασίας που η Οργανωτική Επιτροπή τηρεί
  • τυγχάνουν νόμιμης, θεμιτής και διαφανούς επεξεργασίας, επί τη βάσει της συγκατάθεσης, της άσκησης έννομου συμφέροντος, της εκπλήρωσης νομικών υποχρεώσεων ή της εκτέλεσης σύμβασης
  • αποθηκεύονται με ασφαλή τρόπο ούτως ώστε να προστατεύεται η εμπιστευτικότητα, ακεραιότητα και διαθεσιμότητά τους.
