7,700m run in honour of Cypriot Marathon runner Stelios Kyriakides who won in Boston in 1946.
NICOSIA, 18 November, 2019 – The Athanasios Ktorides Foundation and the Organising Committee of the “Quantum Nicosia Marathon” are organising the 2nd “Stelios Kyriakides 7.7km race” which will take place at the Athalassa Park on Sunday, December 1, 2019.
As with the first event in 2018, this milestone race of 7,700 metres is held as a sign of gratitude to the legendary Stelios Kyriakides who won the Boston Marathon in 1946. The race distance is symbolic as it represents the legendary marathon runner’s jersey number “77”.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to support the work of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre.
Race Director for the event is the Dro.Me.A Racing runners club.
