2,500 years after the Battle of Marathon

2,500 years after the battle of Marathon and Pheidippides’ journey from Marathon to Athens, the first International Marathon Road is revived on Sunday, October 10 in Nicosia.

The Quantum Nicosia Marathon conveys to our society, messages of hope, ideals and values represented by the Marathon Road Race.

The 1st International Nicosia Marathon is organised by the Athanasios Ktorides Foundation and is under the auspices of the Municipality of Nicosia.

Participating in the Nicosia Marathon, strengthens an event of friendship, love and solidarity with our fellow citizens.

All proceeds from the participations will be given to three charitable organizations: the Anti-Cancer Association, the “Make a Wish” Association and to the Association of Nursing Homes of the Nicosia Municipality.

The starting and finishing point of the first Nicosia Marathon will be at the Famagusta Gate, with runners covering a distance of 42,195 meters.
